Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer a finder's fee for new clients?
Yes! We offer a $50 finders fee for clients who need a redesigned or new static website. We offer larger finder's fees for more complex sites. We pay the finder's fee out of the first payment from the client. Drop us an email for more details.
What is the process of getting a web site developed?
- Call for an initial consultation.
- We send you a quote that you sign off on.
- Set up a design meeting or provide your own design.
- Content meetings are not included in the basic cost of the site. If you need resources for this, let us know, we can help.
- On longer projects, after the design comps are delivered, half of the cost of the site is due at this point.
- Once the design is decided upon, the developer starts turning it into HTML and getting it ready for the web.
- All payments are due BEFORE the site will be hosted.
What if it takes longer than expected, will I be charged more?
Projects are bid on the estimated number of hours the project will take. If the project takes longer, you have our guarantee that it won't cost you more. If however, the design comps have been approved by the client, and the client changes their mind on major items, this additional work will be charged at $60 per hour.
Is it possible to have a green web site?
Yes it is! AISOoffers solar hosted web servers in sunny southern California. Won't it feel great to know that the servers that host your passion are being fueled by the sun instead of fossil fuels? Green hosting is very comparable with regular hosting (under $200 per year). I feel great that I host with solar power, I bet you will too. Talk about great karma!
Besides the costs of building the website, what other costs are involved?
Any advertising and recurring web hosting costs aren't included in the cost of building the site. You should plan on around $100 per year to host your website. Advertising costs can be as much or as little as you want them to be.
Where did the name of the company come from?
The purpose behind “Picture in a Frame” is expressed in the lyrics of a song, which the company was named after. “I love you baby and I always will…I’ve loved you ever since I put your picture in a frame”. These words were written about a man that realized he was in love with his wife. After the realization, he made the thought complete by putting her picture in a frame. After our customers realize their right livelihood, what they love, we want to help them frame their passion in the “frame” of the Internet.
Who runs the company?
Picture in a Frame is wholey owned and operated by Derek Dunnom. Derek is a long time corporate web developer, guitarist/singer, traveler, mountaineer with a passion for working with intersting people. Most of the development is done out of a home office or coffee shops, eliminating much cost.
Who makes my website?
Derek is the primary resource to build your website. Picture in a frame has also partnered with several professionals for larger jobs that require more specialization. Need someone to help with content generation? Need someone to create you a professional logo? We have those resources available.
Do your provide reduced costs to non-profit organizations?
